Great Sacandaga Lake Water Levels Weekly Update – 769.25 Feet
If you’ve been following Great Sacandaga Lake water levels, this week brings a slower but steady change.
The lake is now sitting at approximately 769.25 feet, which is about a 1-foot increase since last week. While levels are still rising, the pace has slowed compared to recent updates.
A Slower Rise This Week
Over the past few weeks, we’ve seen strong increases in water levels. This week, however, the rise has been more gradual. A big reason for that is the lack of recent rainfall, which has slowed the amount of runoff feeding into the lake.
Even with the slower pace, the lake continues to move in the right direction as we head further into the spring season.
Signs the Lake is Coming Back to Life
Around Great Sacandaga Lake, there are clear signs that activity is picking up.
Many local marinas are preparing to open their docks, which is always a major step toward the start of boating season. As docks go in and access improves, we’ll continue to see more boats, jet skis, and overall lake activity.
This is the time of year when everything starts to come together for the summer season.
What This Means for Property Owners
If you own property on or near the lake, this is a great time to start getting ready:
- Check your dock and shoreline setup
- Make sure everything is secure and ready for rising water
- Prepare for increased lake activity
Looking Ahead
If weather patterns remain similar, we can expect:
- Continued gradual increases in water levels
- More marinas opening in the coming weeks

In my next update, I’ll be putting together a full guide to local marinas and where they are located around the lake—something that will be helpful for both residents and visitors.
