Great Sacandaga Lake Water Level Update – April 29, 2026

If you’re looking for a Great Sacandaga Lake water level update, here’s the latest as we head into the start of lake season.

Over the past week, I’ve been seeing more boats showing up on docks around the lake. It’s always a great sign that things are starting to come alive again. Like many of you, I’m hoping to get my boat in the water soon.

Since my last update on April 23rd, the lake level has dropped about one foot, bringing it down to 768.12 feet.

While that may not seem like a big change, it’s something to keep an eye on. Without steady rainfall, water levels could continue to drop as we move further into the spring.

Looking back at last year gives us some helpful perspective. On this same date in 2025, the lake level was 768.32 feet. Shortly after, we had a stretch of steady rain that pushed the lake up to 771.36 feet by May 11th, which turned out to be the highest level of the season.

From there, the lake gradually dropped, finishing at 759.71 feet by Labor Day.

From a real estate standpoint, lower lake levels can have an impact—especially for homes located in shallower coves. Reduced water depth can affect dock access, usability, and how buyers view certain properties.

As we move into the busy season, lake conditions like this can play a role in both pricing and buyer activity.

We’ll continue to watch the weather and hope for some steady rain to help maintain healthy lake levels heading into summer.
