Great Sacandaga Lake Water Levels Update – Now at 768 Feet
If you’ve been following Great Sacandaga Lake water levels, you’ve probably noticed a big change over the past few days. The lake is now sitting at approximately 768 feet, up from 761 feet in the last update. That’s about a 7-foot rise in a short period of time, continuing the steady upward trend we’ve been tracking this spring.
Tracking the Recent Rise
Over the last two updates, in March & April 10th & we’ve seen a consistent climb in water levels as the lake transitions out of winter conditions.
This type of steady rise is typical for spring, driven by snowmelt and runoff, but the speed of the increase is something property owners and lake users should be paying attention to.
What We’re Seeing Right Now
One of the most noticeable changes is near the Edinburg Marina, where the small island just off shore is now almost completely underwater. This is a clear visual marker of how much the lake has come up.
We’re also seeing:
- Docks starting to float again
- Boats and jet skis already in the water
- Increased activity around the lake
- Fishing reports showing solid early-season results
All signs point to the lake coming back to life as we move into the spring season.
Important Reminder for Property Owners
With this continued rise over the last few updates, now is the time to check your dock and shoreline setup.
Make sure:
- Your dock is still secure
- Lines have not loosened
- The structure hasn’t shifted
You may need to adjust or pull your dock in slightly as water levels continue to change.
Looking Ahead
If this trend continues, we can expect:
- Continued improvements in lake access
- More boats and recreational activity
- Increased interest in lakefront and lake-access homes
Following these updates week to week gives a clearer picture of how conditions are evolving.
If you’re thinking about buying or selling near Great Sacandaga Lake, this type of local insight can give you a real advantage.
